OOTD // Patterns and Edginess.

Here is an ootd I wore 2 days ago (before I created this blog). You may have already saw this if you follow my instagram, @style.leaf. The reason as to why I titled this post “Patterns and Edginess” is obvious. My choice of patterns in conjunction with my shoes and accessory give this outfit an edge. Here is a break down of the outfit from top to bottom:

Round reflective mirror shades- Hot Topic

Black scarf patterned sweater- Forever21

Orange skull patterned hi-low dress- Tobi

Black pleather platform boots- given to me by my older sister Yukiko. The brand is Truffle.

Okay, so now that I listed where I got what, you may notice that I shop at cheap stores. This is true. It doesn’t really matter where I got something, it just matters what it is. You really don’t need to shop at expensive stores to be stylish, you just need STYLE. Anyways, I decided to wear my dress underneath the sweater because it creates an interesting silhouette. It may not be the most flattering but I do like the overall feel (it’s almost effortless). The thick material of the sweater and the light, chiffon material of the hi-low dress creates a nice contrast that makes the flowiness at the bottom stand out. Choosing to wear a dress underneath a sweater gives me the option to wear the dress alone if it gets too hot. I chose those black platforms to add length to my legs and match with the black sweater and black rimmed shades.
